Medical Care as Factors that Affect Wellbeing of Elderly People

Health care is a high-priority problem to be solved by the society. The paper is focused on social problems of the elderly. Solution of the problems related to the third age people, adaptation of the older generations to new conditions of democratization in Russia, and active involvement in the life of society is one of the main directions of the state policy in the area of social assistance. This implies, according to the authors, the adequate provision of health care for the elderly with due regard to their age, residence, and income level. The statistics on the number of health care visits by elderly patients in different regions of Russian has been provided in terms of morbidity, hospitalization, and clinical supervision. Furthermore, the paper emphasizes that health care involves the provision of a wide spectrum of services for the elderly due to the effective state social policy and respect for old age

Forming Linguistic Competence of Foreign Students at the Preparatory Department of a Technical University

The article describes the technique developed by the authors to organize classroom lessons and independent work for foreign learners studying in Russian at the Preparatory department of a technical university. At the classroom lessons in Mathematics students worked with five types of tasks: sample tasks; text analysis; micro essay; model task; mastering mathematical symbols. During the independent work in the study of Mathematics, foreign students performed tests and teamwork tasks placed on the platform Moodle. We have carried out the experiments, which showed that the technique of organizing classroom lessons and independent work, developed by the authors, had a positive impact on the level of linguistic competence in Mathematics of foreign students of the Preparatory department

Innovative computer technologies as an implementer of active methods of training

Introduction of computer means in high schools is dictated by innovative processes in education.One of the latest innovations is Moodle, an open source web-based platform that provides a virtual learningenvironment. The article describes the arrangement of students' learning at the technical university with thehelp of didactic materials placed on the Moodle platform. The experimental work has shown that theorganization of learning by means of the virtual learning environment had a positive effect on the level oftraining of first-year students. The survey conducted after the experiment completion allowed us to revealthe difficulties that students experienced during the work in the electronic environment, and, therefore, toplan the ways of their elimination

Complicated Adaptive Systems as a Way to Improve Higher Education

The aspiration to constant economic wellbeing and intensive transformation of the scientific world detects a problem of adaptation in high professional education (HPE). The HPE system built in the socio-economic structure reacts with a delay to changes in the environment. In the article we claim that HPE systems have features of bio-systems: self-preservation and adequate response to external stimuli. It is supposed that this delay can be overcome if we insert into the system the elements which can improve its adaptability. As the quantitative evaluation of the system gives no grounds to the model construction, our study offers a new concept of high professional education model building. To make a diagnostics of the HPE system and to create a model of HPE adaptation to the environmental challenges we use the method of fuzzy logics, comprising a base of rules and membership functions. The proposed algorithm of fuzzy output is based on the expert assessment data of the Russian Association of Engineering Universities received during the accreditation of engineering specialties in 10 universities of Russia

Wellbeing of foreign students enrolled in Russian universities: trends in development

The transformation of international relations, economics, scientific views, and technologies of production and communication implies the processes of involvement and social and academic integration. Introduction of new international standards for Russian higher education and establishment of the federal project 5/100/2020 to boost the global competitiveness of Russian universities in order to break into the top 100 in the World University Rankings (THE, QS and ARWU) affect the reputation of universities. The paper reports on the place of Russia in the global market for education services, primarily of tertiary level, and on changes in the training of foreigners over the last twenty years. The key indicators of training of foreign students in Russia affecting the position of Russian universities in global rankings have been considered. The paper presents statistical data on the number of quotas for admission of foreigners to study in Russian universities at the expense of the Russian budget and satisfaction of foreign students with living conditions

Study of the technological process parameters basis on a mathematical model

The results of modeling of parameters of technological process are presented in this article. By means of data processing of an experiment the mathematical expressions connecting values of input and output parameters of process are received. On the basis of the regression analysis the system from three equations has been calculated. The check of the constructed model on suitability of application is executed. The received results will allow operating the process parameters so that to minimize the amount of discrepancies in the studied parameter that will lead to increase in production efficiency, decrease in level of marriage, decrease in grade of production, reduction of number of the controlling operations
